Hersey Pennsylvania

We originally had planned to spend a week in this area but had to limit our stay to three days due to our extended stay in New Jersey.

We stayed at a wonderful Thousand Trails RV resort located 8 miles outside Hersey. The campground is located in the hills and was a beautiful setting. There were great roads for motorcycling right outside the gate of the campground. I did a couple of rides that were awesome and was never more than 10 miles from the campground. The hills made from some fun rides and the valleys were beautiful with the green and gold from the crops painting the landscape.

On Saturday we ventured to Pottsville to check out the Yuengling Brewery which is the oldest family run brewery in the US (check out my review in the food and beverage page). The ride getting there was wonderful with great scenery and quaint small towns along the way. Pottsville is a neat town that is situated along a hillside which makes for interesting roads and neighborhoods in the town. We enjoyed the tour and tasting at the brewery and had a pleasant scenic ride back home.

On Sunday we started the day with a morning ride to a motorcycle breakfast hosted by a local fire department. We followed that with a scenic ride into Hersey to check out the sites. We took a quick stop at the Hersey Museum/Store before heading home. Hersey Chocolate has definitely left his mark on this community.

This was a beautiful area and would liked to have stayed longer and do more riding in this area. The one down-side was the lack of cell service/internet which does pose limitations.
