We have been coming to the Spearfish area over the 4th of July for years and have never taken in the Roundup. We decided this was the year we needed to get it done. All I can say is what the heck were we waiting for ??
We attended the Roundup on 3 occasions and had a wonderful time. We attended the evening Ranch Rodeo (with included BBQ dinner) and 2 of the slack events. It was really fun to watch the cowboys working the horses and livestock during the sorting, steer wrestling, branding, team roping, tie-down roping, steer roping, and saddle bronc riding events. Contestants from all over the US were competing.
