Our time in Pueblo has come to an end. We had a great time during our stay and enjoyed a number of meals with Alex, our son, and a special birthday meal to celebrate Patricia's birthday at La Forchetta da Massi (incredible Italian restaurant).
We moved on to Oliver Lee Memorial State Park in New Mexico. This is 12 miles south of Alamogordo NM and is in the Chihuahuan Desert. We are situated at the base of the Sacramento Mountains at the entrance of Dog Canyon. We have a great view of the desert floor that includes the White Sands National Park and the White Sands Missile Range.
Sunspot Solar Observatory is straight up the mountain from our location, and we aren't too far from Capitan NM, the site where Billy the Kid was killed and the center of the Lincoln Range wars.
We will be here 4 nights but need to decide our next moves SOON.
