Colorado National Monument - Little Known Gem

This place is one of the great landscapes of the west. Calling this a monument is a little misleading. This place is a collection of red-rocked canyons, monoliths, and stunning panoramic views of the valley below and the Colorado River.

An amazing 22 mile rim-rock road clings to the side of sheer canyon walls as it weaves its way up to the top of the Mesa. The construction of this road started in 1933 and wasn't finished until 1950.

This is my 3rd visit to this place, but the first time I've camped in the park, and am still in awe of the stunning display.
