We left Eastbank Campground at 8am central time. With only 220 miles in front of us we didn't bother to get an early start.
It was a relatively easy travel day except for the last 40 miles or so. Thunderstorm came in hot an heavy, with a little small hail, AND we ran into road closures/detours in Camden. Fortunately, the rain stopped just as we arrived at our campsite so we didn't have to setup in the rain!
We have a PERFECT spot on the Alabama River/William "Bill" Dannelly reservoir. Right on the water, site is perfectly level, shade, and beautiful view. What more could you ask for?
We are here for three nights. The only plans we have is to take the Gee's Bend Ferry over to the Gee's Bend Quilters Collective in Boykin AL. Patricia has to see what that is all about!
